MSI 2026: BLG Sweep LYON, T1 Eliminate FURIA to Advance
The Bracket Stage of the League of Legends Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) 2026 continued with two decisive best-of-five series as Bilibili Gaming (BLG) and T1 both secured convincing 3-0 victories to advance in the tournament. BLG defeated LYON to reach the Upper Bracket Final, while T1 eliminated FURIA Esports from the competition and kept their championship hopes alive in the Lower Bracket.

BLG Defeat LYON 3-0 to Reach Upper Bracket Final
Although the final scoreline was a clean sweep, the series proved far more competitive than expected, with LYON challenging BLG throughout all three games.
Game 1
The opening game featured a slow and methodical pace, with both teams trading objectives and kills evenly throughout the early and mid game. LYON consistently matched BLG in gold while finding several successful early skirmishes.
The turning point came around the 30-minute mark when BLG won a decisive teamfight, securing an ace before marching into LYON's base. After 32 minutes, BLG claimed Game 1 with a narrow 12-11 kill advantage.
Game 2
LYON continued to pressure BLG throughout the second game, keeping both the gold difference and kill score close for most of the match.
However, superior teamfighting around the Dragon and Baron objectives eventually allowed BLG to take control. A dominant late-game push ended the game after 28 minutes, with BLG finishing 31-18 in kills to move onto match point.
Game 3
The final game remained competitive until the decisive Dragon Soul fight. Although LYON initially looked poised to secure the objective, BLG found the perfect engage, secured Dragon Soul, wiped out LYON with an ace, and never looked back.
After a 39-minute battle, BLG destroyed the Nexus to complete the 3-0 series victory.
What's Next?
With the victory, BLG advance to the MSI 2026 Upper Bracket Final, where they will face Hanwha Life Esports on July 9.
LYON drop into Lower Bracket Round 2, where they will face Team Secret Whales on July 8.
T1 Sweep FURIA to Stay Alive
The Lower Bracket elimination match saw T1 produce another dominant performance, defeating FURIA Esports 3-0 to continue their MSI campaign.
Despite the one-sided scoreline, FURIA continued to fight aggressively throughout the series and pushed T1 in multiple key moments.
Game 1
Both teams traded evenly during the early game, with FURIA finding success through aggressive pressure in the bottom lane.
T1 remained composed, gradually building their advantage before capitalising on several mistakes from FURIA during the late game. After nearly 34 minutes, the reigning world champions secured the opening game.
Game 2
The second game featured a much faster pace.
T1 drafted heavily around Kim "Peyz" Su-hwan's Caitlyn, supported by Ryu "Keria" Min-seok's Lux, allowing Peyz to become the primary carry.
Once Caitlyn reached her power spike, T1 dominated every teamfight and closed out the game in 29 minutes with a 14-7 kill lead, taking a commanding 2-0 series advantage.
Game 3
Facing elimination, FURIA came out aggressively and even secured an early kill advantage.
However, T1 consistently maintained a gold lead through superior map control and objective trading. A crucial Baron fight eventually swung the game firmly in T1's favour.
Although FURIA mounted one final comeback attempt by winning a fight in the jungle, T1 ultimately regained control and closed out the game after 32 minutes to complete the sweep.
Tournament Outlook
Following the victory, T1 advance to Lower Bracket Round 2, where they will face G2 Esports on July 8.
Meanwhile, FURIA Esports are eliminated from MSI 2026, finishing in 7th–8th place and earning US$110,000 in prize money.
